My name is Jasmin, and I just left my teaching career to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool my children. (Pray for me, y’all!) Six years ago, God gave me my husband, Aaron, who was far from my type. (Which is actually great if you knew my history of dysfunctional relationships.) But, he is absolutely the man I needed to do life with. I also am a mom to David Matthew, a super sweet, brilliant, and compassionate 13 year old; Ethan, an also sweet but oh-so strong-willed and hilariously clever 3-year old; and Emma Joy, my beautiful 2-year old princess, who is apparently training to be a future American Ninja Warrior in a dress.
Leaving the Old Behind- Transitions & Growth
Three years ago, we left the only home we had ever known. We said goodbye to the Big Apple and relocated our family to the Sunshine State. We were quite nervous at first. But, we knew God had gone ahead of us. And we agree it was one of the best decisions we have ever made.
My relationship with Christ and my family are the two most important things in my life. Though at times, I have let perfectionism and being a workaholic get in the way. I am an organization queen and a meticulous planner to a fault. (Seriously, I have my brother’s wedding speech planned and he isn’t even engaged). But most importantly, God has helped me overcome rejection, depression, control issues, and perfectionism. I no longer desire to be perfect nor pretend to live a perfect life. But, I strive to see the good in all things and have a gift for seeing true potential in others.
This faith-driven journey that we have embarked upon is not always pretty. But we have learned that the paths that don’t seem to make sense are often the most interesting and beautifully woven displays of God’s plan and purpose for our lives. I invite you to join us on this journey of self-discovery and growth. My goal is to provide you with laughter, encouragement, practical tools to make life easier, and tips on how to find joy in every season of your life. I don’t claim to have all the answers. But, I am a life-long learner and researcher who would love to share my experiences with you and learn from yours.
In addition to providing you with tips on how to find joy in all situations, I have a deep passion for equipping women to follow God’s calling in their lives. While doing that, I have discovered that financial roadblocks have been a huge barrier for many women. Specifically, I’ve been told by many that they feel called to homeschool their children. However, due to their finances, that is just not feasible for them.
It breaks my heart to think that women are feeling hopeless and defeated because of their financial situations. So after coaching some friends and family members, I decided to open it up to my readers as well. If you could benefit from personalized tips and advice; a customized financial plan; and having an accountability partner, check out my financial coaching page here.
